Even
though it was supposed
to freeze last night –
today is a beautiful
spring day. Thrilled by
a
Jack-in-the-pulpit
popping up in my garden
and a new spot to see
the Cuckoo-flower. The
Juneberry shrubs and
the
Marsh Marigolds are
adorning the roadsides
in addition to the many
yellow
dandelions. Today we
went up the trail to the
new Hungry Jack Lodge.
Years ago B ran the
lodge and that was where
B & L first met in the
‘60’s. The lodge has
burned down several
times and B’s son
Tad is building the new,
beautiful log lodge. It
was the first time B had
been back since years
ago when she left it. It
was an emotional
experience.
Up the
trail the Red-berried
Elder were in large bud
as well as the blueberry
&
bearberry. We were
looking for
Gay Wings
but only found one in
B’s garden – too early I
guess. We saw many
Wood Anemone on the
Lima Mt. triangle. The
road down to the Brule
Road is closed – hope
not too long – we like
to look at that bog.
Lunch
at Swamper.
We
then went to the
Trailing Arbutus
road and found them in
bloom. They smell so
good !!!
