Today was to
be our first report of the
season. We planned to go
up the Caribou Trail to Ward
Lake where there is a very large
display of
Spring Beauty and
Dutchman’s Breeches. We
however ran into fog – first on
#61 and then it got thicker as
we went inland - so thick that
the driver made a wrong turn and
got so turned around that she
said that she just wanted to go
back. We were held up both ways
with road construction. We ended
eating lunch in the car by the
marina and the Coast Guard
station. When we started out it
was so foggy we could not see
the lighthouse but for lunch it
was clear down by the lake.
