Report by
We woke Friday morning to
find MANY places in the county
flooded. Snow plows cleared
debris off Highway 61.
Today was a dreary, cold day
with sprinkles and sunshine. The
wild
fruit trees are in full
force. We first went down by the
Power Plant to see if we could
find
Butterwort and couldn’t find
any - but the mystery white
flower of last week was
Hoary Alyssum after all. It
looked as though there were
seedpods where there were no
flowers – not possible? The
Croftville Road (much damage
there from the flood) showed the
Swedish colors: blue
forget-me-nots and yellow
Winter Cress. We saw our first
Clintonia and
Buttercup and second
Star Flower of the season.
It seems as though things are
late because of the cold
weather.
Lunch just off the Ward Lake
Road looking toward a Maple
Mountain.
