It was a beautiful day and after the Marsh Marigolds graced the roadways there wasn't much color but now our "Natures Garden" is starting to unfold with the Orange Hawkweed, Smooth (yellow) Hawkweed, white Ox-eye daisies, yellow Buttercups and also yellow Bird's-foot Trefoil and sometimes a Rose or two. The blooming trees are: Mountain Ash, Red Osier Dogwood and Chokecherry. We went ton the Trout Lake Road to where you turn off for Mink Lake Camp to see if we could find the bright yellow Coralroot but we could find none. Are we at the wrong time or has the forest changed so they just aren't growing there any more? We went on the Trestle Pine Road to Pit Lake where we saw Pitcher Plants, Pale Laurel and Tufted Loosestrife. Lunch at Two Island Campground.
