Where we went:
Next week will be the last report. Already there are signs of the
"Last Rose of Summer". In fact I did see one rose, one
strawberry flower, but the biggest treat of all was seeing a cluster of
Linnea, Twinflower with four blossoms. They usually bloom the end
of June through the beginning of July.
It was Bette's birthday so we celebrated it with a special picnic at the
Rock Cut, just west of Grand Marais. We had homemade wine,
chicken, potato salad, grapes, cupcakes with candles and coffee.
Quite an upgrade from our crackers, cheese and water!!
