Report on the Tuesday Fire

Thursday July 4th was a very productive day for working on the
Tuesday Fire near Hovland, MN. As of 6:30 AM Friday July 5th the fire
was 50% contained and crews and equipment are working to construct and
maintain containment lines. There will be 5 helicopters, 6 dozers, 7
engines, 8 all terrain water delivery vehicles and 8 hand crews working
today. They will be busy strengthening lines and mopping up within
100’ of the dozer lines and all spots outside and inside the dozer
breaks. Forecasted weather should be favorable for the work. No
structures have been lost in the fire. The fire is currently 430 acres.
Lightening is believed to be the cause of the fire.
