BoundaryWatersCanoeArea.com (BWCA.cc) received its third
consecutive Golden Web Award today. The site was selected from
over 52,000 nominations by the awards committee of the International
Association of Webmasters and Designers (IAWMD), representing members
from 145 countries.
BWCA.cc serves as a resource for the patrons of the
million-plus acre Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Northeastern
Minnesota. The site, created by nature photographer Erik W. L.
Anderson, started in April of 2000, and has received over one-million
visitors
each year and has now grown to nearly 500 pages.
"There is so much I want to do. I plan to add detailed
information on each of the lakes and to offer online outfitting by next
season," states Anderson.
Other award winners included PapaJohns.com, StarWars.com,
LynyrdSkynyrd.com and BurnetRealty.net. The awards were sponsored
in part by Microsoft, GE, and NBCi.
