The
Boundary Waters Canoe Area of Northeastern Minnesota is
known by most for its summer canoeing and camping, but
many do not consider it for a Spring vacation. It
is a beautiful time with baby green leaves sprouting in
the Birch and wildflowers pushing up through the frosty
ground. There are few visitors and the bugs have
not come out to play.
Ice out ranges from
mid-April to mid-May, so it is touch and go as far as
planning a canoe trip, but a nice hiking trip can easily
be planned. Click on the images below for more
information about Boundary Waters Spring activities.
