Trail Conditions Updated 3/13/10

Comments:  We have had three days of rain and five days of above freezing temps. The trails conditions have deteriorated and aren't suitable for grooming or skiing until temps become normal again.

Summit View groomed 3/5, Bridge Run groomed 3/6, and Britton to Oberg groomed 3/6/10. Wood Duck and Piece of Cake groomed 3/6.

Comments:  Cross country ski trails on Ullr Mountain Loop were last groomed 2/19.   Downhill is open through April 11th, currently with 45 runs and 8-30" base.

Lutsen Mountains cross country ski pass is required, and can be purchased at the ticket office.  The pass includes lift access to the cross country trailheads.  Lutsen Mountains has 4k of trails around Ullr Mountain.  Report Courtesy of the Lutsen-Tofte Tourism Association and Lutsen Mountains.

Comments:  Heavy rain along with warm temps has ended the ski season at Cascade River State Park. Maybe spring is coming early bringing high water for waterfall viewing and fishing on the Cascade River.

Comments:  Expect icy conditions for hiking on trails around the lake and river gorge. Ice cleats for your boots are a very good idea. Ski trails are not groomed at this park but are open to those who wish to use them and provide some snowshoeing and back country skiing. Near the lakeshore you won't find much snow but it increases a bit as you head inland.

Book your lodging today!  AmericInn offers free breakfast, indoor pool, sauna, whirlpool, and all rooms have fridges and microwaves.  AmericInn is located in Tofte, near the Temperance trails, and is only 10 minutes from Lutsen!
