snow fell on Monday, grooming finished up in the early mo ing hours
on Tuesday. All trails have been groomed for classic and skate
skiing. The warming house is open from 10-9 each day and the lights
stay on until 10pm, it is going to b a great week, hope to see you
all out there!

The Pincushion Mountain Trail System is a
25 kilometer silent sport trail system perched high above Lake
Superior, 2 miles north of Grand Marais, Minnesota. Because of its
varied terrain, excellent trail design and spectacular vistas of
Lake Superior and Devil Track River canyon, this trail system is
enjoyed by thousands annually for cross country skiing, snow
shoeing, hiking, running and mountain biking. With annual average
snowfall of 110", Warming Chalet, Pisten Bully grooming for classic
and skate skiing, Pincushion Mountain is a great Nordic skiing
destination!

45 miles north of Grand Marais.
Large system near Canadian border and BWCA. Good mix of terrain with
lots of overlooks. Many trails for classical with limited skating (~
30K). A very good trailside restaurant! 3 trailside lodges.
Trail Passes can be picked up at Gunflint Pines Resort,
Gunflint
Lodge, and Heston’s Lodge.

The Groomers are out again today! We’ve had over 17 inches of snow
this January and the trails are in excellent mid-winter condition.

Well groomed trail system near Minnesota's BWCA. Good mix of terrain
for all levels of skiers. Grooming caters to classical skiers but
skating available (~ 25K). 1.5-2K lighted sections at two trailside
lodges. Lodging available at
Bearskin and Golden Eagle Lodge.

Groomed single track backcountry trail in BWCA Wilderness that
connects Central Gunflint Trails with Upper Gunflint Trails. Yurt to
Yurt skiing available. Parking available for at the eastern trail at
Poplar Creek Guesthouse (30 miles from Grand Marais)- parking fee
$10/car; and free parking at the western trail head on the Gunflint
Trail 1/4 mile before the Loon Lake Public Landing (45 miles from
Grand Marais) - for 4-6 cars only.
